Sports Illustrated came out with their "Where Are They Now?" issue on June 26, 2003.  Mickey was one of the athletes they caught up with.

Legendary statistic guru Bill James, author of the 2002 edition of The Historical Baseball Abstract, has deemed Rivers as one of the best in the business by rating him as the 59th greatest Centerfielder of all time.
